Finally!  The plan is out!

The goal of the day’s action is to disrupt the corporations involved in the COP process, as well as other corporate climate criminals.  This means disrupting both meetings which are part of the COP and business as usual at the corporations themselves.  Within Copenhagen there are many corporations involved in the destruction of the planet and greewashing of false solutions.  We will take direct action against these corporations to disrupt business and shut them down for the day using a diversity of tactics.

Action Plan:  the plan is to assemble at 10:00 am SHARP! (that means on time), in Nytorv, a square in copenhagen’s inner city.  From there the action will proceed to a variety of locations.  Information will be provided before hand on where the action will be headed.  The goal is not as much to hold a street demonstration, as it is to make it to the targets and disrupt them.  Everyone in the action will learn where the action is going, so if separated by police or other nasty forces, proceed to the targets as quickly as possible.  The plan is to divide those ready for direct action into a variety of action style groups, marked by colored armbands given out at the meetup location.  Affinity groups and individuals should come prepared to join one of these groups.  The actions groups will be:

Noise brigade: Green armbands. Making as much noise to drown out the slick talk of the greenwashers and corporate lobbyists.   bring noisemakers, pots and pans, and anything to cause a racket both on the way and in the targets.

Visual group: purple armbands.  This group gets our message across, think banner drops, graffiti, stencils, posters, and banners during the action and outside of corporations.  Make sure they know we mean business

Inside ruckus group: orange armbands.  This is the group to go inside the targets and confront the corporate climate criminals.  Use your imagination to disrupt business as usual.  Come prepared and dress for success.  Get inspired by the havoc these people wreak on the planet.

Outside ruckus group: blue armbands.  This group holds the space outside of the targets and makes sure people of the inside ruckus group can do their thing.  Blocking entrances and generally causing chaos in the streets.  Think street party after the fall of capitalism!

As well, there are other actions that groups may partake in that need no armbands, get creative.

While the goal of the day is to disrupt a as many of these corporations as possible as part of a mass action, autonomous action by affinity groups against corporations in also encouraged.  If your group has not had time to plan autonomous action, come to the mass action.

As well, there will be an action meeting on Thursday, December 10^th at 19:00 (location to be determined) to finalize the plan for the next days actions.  Come there to get plugged in and ready for the next day.

Erhvervslivet forsøger at gøre vores og hele verdens klima til deres forretning!

Med politisk pres, falske løsninger og masser af penge forsøger virksomheder konstant at overbevise verdens befolkning og verdens ledere om, at de kan løse klimakrisens problemer, og at det er dem vi skal lytte til … Og det lykkes desværre alt for godt!

Den 11. december bliver der afholdt erhvervsdag i forbindelse med COP15. Både FN og mange vestlige regeringsledere har allerede udtalt at de ikke kan forestille sig at lave en aftale i København, uden at erhvervslivet er inddraget. Så det er tydeligt, at virksomhedernes lobbyarbejde ­ – og især olie og kul-lobbyerne – allerede har gjort deres skade.

Men virksomhederne er ikke en del af løsningen! De er selve problemet! Som det er nu, står 122 af verdens virksomheder for 80 % af al den CO₂, der bliver udledt på verdensplan. Mens virksomhederne sviner i en grad, der går nærmest ubemærket hen, får civilsamfundet tudet øerne fulde med, at de skal spare på vandet og skrue ned for varmen. Og sådan vil det blive ved med at være, så længe virksomhederne ikke bliver stillet til ansvar for deres handlinger.

Så længe olie-industrien betaler politikernes valgkampagner, er der bare ingen udsigt til, at politikerne vil stille dem til ansvar for deres forurening. De tror i stedet blindt på de løsninger, som erhvervslivet – der selv har skabt krisen – fremstiller. Og det er falske løsninger så som kvote-handel, klima-projekter i 3. verdenslande og teknologi betalt af statsbudgetterne, som virksomhederne kan tjene penge på. For alle disse såkaldte løsninger har det til fælles – ud over, at ingen af dem reelt virker – at de skaber nye markeder for erhvervslivet og dermed STORE indtjeninger. I slutningen af 2008 var det globale kvote-marked eksempelvis omkring 640 mia. kr. værd!

Intet af dette tjener noget som helst andet formål end profit, og CO2-udledningen får lov til at forsætte, mens virksomhederne bliver ved med at sætte profit over alt andet og dermed ignorerer alle menneskelige hensyn. Dette fokus på profit er uforeneligt med det akutte behov, resten af verden har for en hurtig og effektiv løsning på krisen. En løsning, som kun kan opnås, hvis man ændrer radikalt på disse prioriteringer, sætter mennesker over profit og lukker virksomhedernes manipulerende indflydelse helt ude af klimaforhandlinger!

Derfor er der kun én vej at gå:

Derfra vil vi bevæge os til forskellige steder i byen, hvor folk får mulighed for at bruge diverse strategier for at forstyrre business as usual. Dress for success.

Our Climate! Not Your Business!

The business communities are trying to turn our and the rest of the world’s climate into their business!

With political pressure, fake solutions and a lot of money, companies are constantly trying to convince the world’s population and the world’s leaders that they can solve the problems of the climate crisis, and that we ought to listen to them. Unfortunately, they succeed.

The 11^th of December is called the day of business during the COP15. Both the FN and many other Western leaders have already consented that they can’t imagine making an agreement in Copenhagen without having the business communities involved. That clearly shows the damage done by the companies lobbying, especially the oil and coal lobbying.

But the companies aren’t a part of the solution! They are the problem! Right now, a mere 122 of the world’s companies are responsible for 80 % of all the CO₂ emissions worldwide. While the pollution by companies goes almost unnoticed, citizens are constantly told how they have to save water and turn down they heat. And it is going to continue as long as the companies aren’t being held responsible for their actions.

As long as the oil-industry is paying for politicians’ election campaigns, it is not likely that the politicians will hold them responsible for their pollution. Instead they believe blindly in the solutions suggested by the business community – the creators of the crisis. And it is false solutions such as quota trading, climate projects in the 3rd world countries, and technology paid by the state budgets, from which all the companies are profiting. Because all these so-called solutions have one thing in common – beside the fact that none of them really works: they create new markets for the business communities which leads to BIG profits. At the end of 2008, as an example, the global quota market was worth around 86 billion euros.

None of this serves any other purpose than profit, and the CO₂ emissions continue while the companies keep putting profit above everything, thus ignoring all human concerns. This focus on profit is incompatible with the vital need which the rest of the world has for a quick and effective solution to the crisis. A solution that can only be reached if you radically change these priorities, start to put people before profit and stop the companies’ manipulating influence on the climate negotiations!

Therefore, there is only one way:

Stop the business community’s influence on the climate negotiations!

Drop the market solutions!

People before profit!

Meet at 10:00 sharp at Nytorv, a square in the inner city. From there we will proceed to a variety of targets where people are empowered to use a diversity of tactics to disrupt business as usual. Dress for success. A final action planning meeting will be held on Thursday, December 10^th at 19:00.

Our Climate! Not Your Business!

This Thursday at Stengade 30 we are having a vegan bbq (from 19:00) and debrief for Not Your Business (20:30)! and then some nice music to pass the night away…Pass it round and invite people

Civil cops said they were from the press at the Demonstration. At the same time other cops came to our convergence space and attacked the cooking crew and people eating.

Over 50 of us were arrested. One Swedish protester was arrested attempting to deliver Vattenfalls CEO their companies climate greenwash award - for being the company in 2009 with the greatest gap between their business practices and their propaganda. People waiting outside the police station for the release of their friends were brutally disbanded by the police while 5 of our friends were still inside. Police also used pressure points and throat closing pressure techniques to ‘question’ two of those arrested. Business leaders inside the forum continue to push for false solutions for climate change- but we say that police violence will not deter us.

The world is at stake. These businesses with their false solutions are just as bad as those that deny the existence of climate change. They are trying desperately to keep on with their business as usual. But people around the world are waking up! We will not allow reckless profiteering from business to continue- we will shut them down- one climate criminal at a time. We will continue this struggle until the profits of a tine elite are no longer put before the survival of millions or ordinary people around the world!

• Huge, centralised industrialised agriculture >> small, locally oriented organic farming communities (as proposed by Frie Bønder – Levende Hav: Dalbyplanen 2019)

  • more jobs, both skilled and unskilled

  • better community and a richer local life

  • sharing of resources

  • organic/holistic farming

  • fewer or no pesticides

  • tiny or no dependance on fossil fuels

  • better taxrevenue which could be spent on more agricultural conversion, installation of renewables etc.

  • Ensuring water supplies or working to minimize the damage already done

• Localisation of food production and consumption

  • fewer food miles

  • community organisation around food consumption

  • better knowledge of food and food effects

  • urban food production

  • food sharing and distribution locally based

• Community-based and controlled wind/solar/hydro power

  • sponsored by public funds and controlled locally

  • smaller scale would mean less environmental damage

  • no social force or damage through relocation etc.

  • better community would mean more local life and community organisation

  • social responsibility for using renewables

  • better incentive for energy efficiency

• Transportation

  • Massive, free or very cheap public transport

  • urban transport based on public transport, bikes and collective commodity transport

  • better biking facilities and free city bikes

  • car-free cities would mean better public health, new urban space etc.

  • community organisation of “freed” urban spaces

  • train and bike based commodity transportation

• Less consumption, less work and thus more free time

  • less ecologically harmful production

  • fewer food and commodity miles

  • enabling and strengthening communities

  • less stress and better public health
